What is International Youth Day?
International Youth Day is celebrated annually on the 12th of August to bring youth issues to the attention of the larger community and celebrate the potential of youth as partners in today’s global society.
Youth Day gives an opportunity to celebrate and mainstream young peoples’ voices, actions, and initiatives, as well as their meaningful, universal, and equitable engagement.
How did we celebrate?​
The District 1 Youth Advisory Board fundraised over $2,400 to distribute over 800 backpacks to needy families, which were pre-packaged with school supplies.
Over 1000 COVID-19 tests were distributed to families, and our event featured over 30 community organizations.
